I here explore the phenomenon of cultural hybridisation. I present my imaginative and whimsical vision of Japan, a country that has always deeply fascinated me, although I have never set foot there, except whilst daydreaming as a child. I also ponder about the effect of soft power, global popular culture and tourism on objects of such traditional and symbolic culture. These kimonos inspired the designed outfits of the Artsies.
